Banquet Cook

Founded in 1880, London’s premier private club, The London Club is looking for applicants to fill the position of Banquet Cook. Located in the heart of Downtown London, seconds from parking and public transit, The London Club offers flexible hours and the desire to work with energetic and enthusiastic people. From $15.50–$18.50 an hour
Position Duties & Responsibilities
  • Taking orders from the wait staff and preparing food according to member preference.
  • Ensuring the London Club standard of cleanliness and order.
  • Training other staff as necessary in preparation, cooking, and handling of foods.
  • Monitoring and managing cooking tools and ingredients.
  • Making adjustments to accommodate members with specific diet and health concerns.
  • Carefully follows standard recipes while preparing assigned items for banquet service.
  • Assists in plating food items for service.
  • Notifies Chef in advance of expected product shortages.
  • Makes sure that all items are wrapped, dated, labeled and stored properly. 
  • Cleans banquet preparation and serving equipment.
  • Cleans assigned work-station areas.
  • Consistently uses safe and sanitary food handling practices.
  • Sets-up plating line for banquets and assists with plating duties.
  • Assists with preparation of other food products in any other area of the kitchen as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience
  •  Experience in using different cooking tools, equipment, and utensils.
  •  Knowledge of various cooking methods and procedures.
  •  Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  •  Understanding of food preparation techniques.
  •  Able to withstand long hours of standing, bending, and moving around.
  •  Basic knowledge of mathematics to make correct measurements of ingredients.
  •  Ability to follow recipe instructions.
Working conditions
  • Often exposed to hot and cold temperatures, such as when working near ovens or retrieving food from freezers.
  • Occasionally work near contaminants and hazardous equipment.
  • Can be exposed to hazardous situations and conditions that produce cuts or minor burns.
